System Overview
To increase the speed and accessibility of published research, the Journal of Academic Research implements a rolling publication model within a dated open issue.
Under this model, authors are not required to wait for an entire issue to be compiled. Instead, accepted articles are published online individually and immediately upon successful completion of the peer review, copyediting, and production processes.
The "Open Issue" Mechanism
The current issue remains "open" to add new articles throughout its designated publication period. Once the period ends, the issue is formally closed and archived, and a new issue opens immediately.
Immediate Citation Readiness
Each published article is immediately assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) and a definitive page range. This ensures complete citation stability for authors and readers before the full issue closes.
Uncompromised Peer Review
Expedited publication relates solely to the production phase. All submissions continue to undergo the same rigorous, double-blind peer review process to maintain the highest standards of scientific integrity.
Enhanced Visibility
Rolling publication allows accepted work to be indexed and disseminated earlier, granting it greater visibility and increasing the potential for prompt academic citations.
