Author Rights

Authors submitting manuscripts to the Journal are entitled to the following rights:

  1. Copyright Retention: Authors retain the copyright of their work. The journal may request a license to publish the article, typically under an open-access or limited-use agreement, depending on the journal’s publishing model.
  2. Archiving and Sharing: Authors have the right to:
    • Archive the submitted, accepted, or published version of the manuscript in personal or institutional repositories.
    • Share the article via academic networks, personal websites, or for educational purposes, provided proper citation and journal attribution are maintained.
  3. Recognition and Attribution: Authors receive full recognition for their work. Proper attribution is ensured in all versions of the publication.
  4. Re-use and Re-publication: Authors may reuse parts of their work (e.g., figures, tables, data) in future works, lectures, or derivative research, provided that the original publication in the Journal of the Academic Forum is cited appropriately.
  5. Appeal and Correction Rights: Authors have the right to:
    • Appeal editorial decisions.
    • Request retractions or corrections of published work in the event of significant errors or ethical concerns.

Author Responsibilities

To ensure the highest standards of academic integrity and quality, authors must adhere to the following responsibilities:

  1. Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their submitted work is original and free from plagiarism. All sources and influences must be properly cited.
  2. Authorship Criteria: Only individuals who have significantly contributed to the manuscript's research, writing, and final approval should be listed as authors. All co-authors must agree to the final version and its submission.
  3. Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal relationships that could be perceived as influencing the research or its interpretation.
  4. Data Transparency: Authors should provide access to the data supporting the findings, when appropriate, and must be willing to make raw data available for editorial review or post-publication verification.
  5. Accuracy and Integrity: Authors must ensure the accuracy of their findings. Any known errors discovered post-submission or post-publication must be promptly reported to the editorial office.
  6. Ethical Compliance: Research involving human participants or animals must adhere to appropriate ethical standards and approvals. Authors must confirm compliance with ethical guidelines in the manuscript.
  7. Redundant or Concurrent Submission: Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Submitting previously published content without transparent justification and permission is prohibited.
  8. Engagement in Peer Review: Authors may be invited to contribute to the peer-review process for other manuscripts, based on their expertise.
