Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools in Scientific Research

  1. Introduction

The Journal recognizes the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in scientific research. While these technologies can enhance efficiency and insight, they must be used responsibly and ethically to uphold the integrity of academic work.

  1. Acceptable Use of AI Tools

Authors may use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Grammarly, DeepL) for:

  • Language editing or translation
  • Enhancing code or computational models
However, AI should not replace the authors' scholarly contributions or be used to generate content without full oversight.
  1. Disclosure Requirements

Any use of AI tools must be clearly disclosed in the manuscript, including:

  • The name of the tool(s) used
  • The specific purpose or task it was used for
This disclosure must appear in the “Methods” section or a dedicated acknowledgment.
  1. Authorship and Responsibility

AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Human researchers bear full responsibility for the content, accuracy, and ethical compliance of their manuscripts. Misuse of AI that leads to plagiarism, data fabrication, or false authorship may result in rejection or retraction.

  1. Review and Revision of this Policy

This policy will be periodically reviewed in line with technological and ethical developments. The Journal of the Academic Forum reserves the right to amend its guidelines to reflect best practices.
