الخلفية: تلعب الألياف الغذائية دورًا محوريًا في صحة التمثيل الغذائي والجهاز الهضمي من خلال آليات كيميائية حيوية متعددة. تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى بحث التأثيرات الكيميائية الحيوية للألياف الغذائية على الصحة، وذلك بدراسة أنماط استهلاكها وعلاقتها بنتائج التمثيل الغذائي والهضم. المنهجية: أُجري مسح مقطعي بين البالغين لتقييم معرفتهم بالأدوار الكيميائية الحيوية للألياف وأنماط استهلاكهم اليومي. شمل الاستبيان البيانات الديموغرافية، والقياسات الأنثروبومترية (مؤشر كتلة الجسم)، ومعرفة مصادر الألياف (مثل البريبايوتكس، والألياف القابلة للذوبان مقابل غير القابلة للذوبان)، ومؤشرات الصحة المبلغ عنها ذاتيًا، بما في ذلك مستوى السكر في الدم، ومستويات الكوليسترول، وأعراض الجهاز الهضمي. تم تحليل البيانات باستخدام برنامج IBM SPSS (الإصدار 25). النتائج: تتضمن مجموعة البيانات نطاقًا واسعًا من المتغيرات، بما في ذلك دور الألياف في إبطاء امتصاص السكر وربط الأحماض الصفراوية للتأثير على الكوليسترول. يركز التحليل الأولي على معدل استهلاك الخضراوات والفواكه والحبوب الكاملة وعلاقته بانتشار الإمساك، ومتلازمة القولون العصبي، وفئات مؤشر كتلة الجسم. كما تقيّم الدراسة مدى الوعي بالألياف كمصدر غذائي للبكتيريا المعوية المفيدة (البريبايوتكس). الخلاصة: تشير النتائج الأولية إلى وجود صلة وثيقة بين أنماط استهلاك الألياف ومؤشرات الصحة الأيضية. ويُعدّ تعزيز الوعي العام بالفوائد البيوكيميائية للألياف - التي تتجاوز مجرد الهضم - أمرًا بالغ الأهمية لتحسين نتائج التمثيل الغذائي والجهاز الهضمي. وتُقدّم هذه النتائج رؤى قيّمة للتدخلات الغذائية التي تهدف إلى الوقاية من الأمراض المزمنة.
